A bilingual B2B product catalogue with request-for-quote for an electrical wholesaler, built in Nuxt and Supabase.
Insotech is an electrical wholesaler and the sole Norwegian distributor of Bimed. They needed a catalogue that shows thousands of variants without becoming hard to navigate, and a tidy way to take in quote requests. Not a webshop, but a tool to find the right product and ask for a price.
I handled the whole project alone, design and development, in Nuxt with Supabase. I chose the colours and how every page looks (the client said "you decide, I trust you"), and only the product photos aren’t mine. A product is a family, not a single SKU, so the catalogue shows families and the detail page a filterable table of every variant. Content lives in Norwegian and English in one database.
The hard part, and the biggest part of the job, was the data. Product information arrived from the supplier across twelve separate emails, messily structured and mostly missing, and each product has its own certificates, spec sheets and documents organised differently. I built an import pipeline that pulls all of it into one clean model, with bespoke handling for around sixty products that didn’t fit the template. That is also why I added an admin panel, so Insotech can edit products themselves, import from Excel and follow up on requests.
I became their go-to IT contact too. I look after domain, DNS, email and hosting, and handle their SEO, analytics and Google listing, not just the website. One person who knows the whole setup. Live at insotech.no with 134 product families and over 15,000 variants, bilingual from day one.
