A fast static Astro site that replaced a Squarespace site for a consulting firm working between Scandinavia and China.
Xu Consulting helps companies with trade and sourcing between Scandinavia and China. They had a Squarespace site and wanted something faster, cleaner and easier to update as their first impression for new clients.
I built a lean static site in Astro, with no JavaScript where it isn’t needed, so it loads fast and is cheap to run. All the content sits in one place so the copy can change without touching code. The contact form runs serverless with Turnstile and sends email through Resend, and I added company-details autofill from the Norwegian business register.
I moved the domain and DNS off Squarespace, set up hosting, and migrated the content with redirects from the old URLs, so their search rankings carried over. I also set up analytics, SEO and their Google Business profile, and I keep the site running. The monthly Squarespace subscription is gone, and the site is fast and cheap to keep updated.
