A full rebuild in React, built alone, with payments through Stripe and Vipps. Existing customers kept their access. Live at eksamensportalen.no since August 2026.

They brought me in to rebuild the whole of Eksamensportalen on my own. The new version runs on React Router and Node, across two databases.

Content is read from the old database through a Postgres role with no write access, enforced by the database itself. A new database handles users and payments. So the old platform was never at risk while I built the new one. I built the payment side myself on Stripe and Vipps, with subscriptions and sales documents numbered under Norwegian bookkeeping rules. Grading runs on the server. The answer key never leaves it.

Old customers register with the same email address and the platform fetches their access over a signed channel. Live since 29 August 2026, with 117 purchasable subjects and over 22,000 questions. The first real payment came the same evening.
